2A White Rook

A blog on 2A matters

NRA/NRA Foundation & Friends

Friends of NRA program would raise funds and 50 percent would be deposited into the NRA Foundation, a 501(c)(3) and the remaining 50 percent would stay within the state the funds were raised in. Since the lawsuit was filed, the NRA is still utilizing the Friends program, however, the funds are no longer being diverted to the Foundation. As previously reported, those funds will be directed to one of two other 501(c)(3)s that have the NRA as a benefactor.

This just keeps getting more and more complicated. So now the money which would have gone to the Foundation, now goes to the Patriot Fund and Freedom Action Foundation. But what are they?

Is the Patriot Fund the veterans charity? The Friends Of NRA website was of no help, I couldn’t find where the money goes from the dinners. I’d think money from the 2A event should go to 2A causes.

Now the Freedom Action Foundation, just who runs it? As you can see, it doesn’t give any information, just like the old NRA Foundation website, didn’t give any information about its leadership either.

And what does the Freedom Action Foundation do specifically?

The NRA Freedom Action Foundation is dedicated to providing non-partisan Second Amendment education to all American citizens. Through these efforts, we strive to reach all citizens, regardless of race, religion or socio-economic status with respect to the history and meaning of the Second Amendment. Our efforts focus on specific communities of interest as well as college campuses.

It seems they’ve checked all the DEI boxes except LBGTQIA+, and the undocumented residents. It’d be nice if NRA would stop the DEI stuff altogether. But just what does this Freedom Action Foundation do? Can we get examples? Something? They say they identify legal cases, but what’s that mean? Doesn’t ILA do legal? And getting out the vote is nice, but, specifics? 2025 VA didn’t go so well, did it? And why do election work anyway? Isn’t that what PVF’s for?

And it must be asked, is the only way to get 2A to give money to 2A groups/programs is to give them things in return? This is looks like a gun show. And I wonder how much NRA paid the Foundation for those packages? But if 2A needs to be rewarded in order to support the cause, we’re really in trouble. And there’s even been argument over whether Friends Of NRA is an NRA program or a Foundation program.

As always, complexity favors the well connected. And I won’t send my money to God knows where to support 2A. If NRA 2.0 wants reform, they will start showing membership where their money goes, and what there money is used for.

Equip, train, pray and never disarm.
