Why Are Gun Owners Eager To Give Away Their Political Power?

The title may sound hyperbolic, I suppose. But it’s a serious question. Why are gun owners eager to give away their political power?

This is specifically in reference to immigration. On various 2A forums, when a article or topic comes up about immigration and/or voting, I will typically make a comment, framed like this,

We need to end immigration now. Bringing in tens of millions of people a year, and giving them the vote, doesn’t help us. They vote Marxist. Why give away our political power, when we have so many native born Marxists to contend with? After all, what other country in the would has a centuries old cultural tradition of civilian armament and an equally long hatred of a government monopoly on violence? None.

Posting something like that in the comments section really riles up the woke right gun owners. They go bananas. The number of replies are always MANY. Most being trolling replies which I don’t bother with… This is the internet, you can guess what those are.

Now the true replies, come in three main forms. The first being something like,

When it comes to voting and immigration the first thing we need to do is secure our elections. Election day in person voting only, paper ballots, hand counted, no machines, ID, Social Security number, proof of citizenship… You know, the typical Republican voter talking points since 2016. And my response to comments like that goes something like,

But the voting process is only half the problem. Say we secure our elections entirely, so what? So what when we import tens of millions of people per year and give them the vote, and they vote Marxist? Secure elections won’t matter, we’ve given away all our political power. We need to end immigration.

Strangely, replies to the above, never seem to occur except for some trolling nonsense.

The second camp of actual replies comes in the form of something like this,

That’s not true. The immigrants who come from Marxist countries vote Republican. They know the dangers of Marxism.

And my reply to things like that are typically,

The numbers don’t support that idea. And even if they vote Republican, are they pro 2A? No. It’s not in their culture. We’re the only nation with a centuries long tradition of civilian armament and a hatred for a government monopoly on violence. Immigrants are not becoming culturally American, they cling to their old culture. Why are we importing tens of millions per year to vote Marxist, and giving away our political power?

Again, no replies to that, except for some trolls.

Then the third camp goes something like this,

DON’T SAY IMMIGRANTS LIKE SOME LIBTARD! THEY’RE ILLEGAL ALIENS!!!

The above actually does happen, usually verbatim. And in all caps with exclamation points. I typically do respond, and when I do, it goes,

I didn’t say “illegal aliens” because I’m not talking about illegal aliens. I’m talking about immigrants who’ve been granted citizenship and a ballot. They don’t vote our way, they vote Marxist. Why are we giving away our political power?

Again, no replies, except some trolling.

So this begs the question, why are so many gun owners eager to give away their political power? I have no “data” to support that, it’s purely anecdotal. But given how triggered the woke right gun owners get, it must be a sizeable percentage. Plus, you have, 2A groups supporting politicians who are “pro 2A” and “pro immigration”. And yet all these immigrants voted for Trump, but again, what about state and local elections? Look around, do the the above states look “redder”? Or “bluer”? Are we to believe AI’s claims? Maybe AI is right about Trump, but I see nothing to suggest immigrants voted right in the down ballot races. Again Florida’s an outlier, they’re not pro 2A, yet they are Republicant. And then of course, let’s acknowledge the jackass in the room… The Democrat Party KNEW Kamala Harris would LOSE!

While 2A groups contend it’s important to do out reach work, and I agree it is, they focus on race, which I vehemently disagree with. It’s not color, it’s culture. And let’s face it, immigrants don’t have a strong 2A cultural history because why? They’re immigrants! And let’s not forget, how many of these immigrants are truly Americans? A piece of paper doesn’t make you an American. Oh, sure, it makes you one legally, but it can’t make you one culturally.

Look around, how many immigrants do you see becoming Americans? The polite term is “assimilate”, but I don’t have the inclination to be polite on such serious matters as “conservatives” being hell bent on giving our country away to non-Americans who have no intention of becoming Americans culturally and who vote Marxist, when given a ballot.

I’ve said this before, there’s a neighborhood in Minneapolis called “Little Mogadishu”. All over the Twin Cities, Somali’s, all legal, mostly second and third generation now, still wear traditional Middle Eastern garb, speak English with a heavy accent, if they speak it at all, and certainly are not Americans culturally. I don’t see any point in going down the line, but after all, have you seen a house being roofed? All the Spanish being spoken and Hispanic music blaring from stereos? How hard is it to get someone who speaks English to answer a customer service phone number? And have you noticed it’s getting rarer and rarer to find a native born doctor or nurse? Have you been to a post office lately? Have you had an easy or hard time understanding the clerk through his extremely thick foreign accent?

Why are gun owners eager to give away their political power? I have some thoughts. One, many are on team MAGA, and think that because Trump’s in the White House, everything’s copacetic. Another thought is, some think only illegal aliens are the problem- to which I’d argue illegal aliens are only half the problem, the other half being legal immigrants. Some I think just have too much of a bleeding heart, they mean well but have blinders on.

It’s time the pro 2A movement begins calling for an end to immigration.
