Glock “Regularly” Looks At 4473’s

An update, to this about Glock demanding 4473’s, they admitted they do regularly!

“We regularly and randomly audit gun dealers to make sure that people in the Blue Label program are qualified buyers. We check the dealer’s copy of their qualifying credentials against the form 4473 to make sure that their ID matches the name on the form . . . We do not record any information from the form.”

This is from a forum thread on the Glock/Trop Gun Shop problem. This user, shares an email from Trop that he received, about them being removed from Glock’s Blue Label Program. I can’t link directly to the comment, but it’s the first one.

A little further down, one user replied with this,

I asked my favorite local dealer if the Blue Label program used the 4473 to validate the LE credentials in some way. His reply:

We have to take a copy of the military/LE id and report the model/serial number to get another glock LE gun. Doesn’t go in the 4473 it goes in it’s own seperate file.

I found this thread, which seems to corroborate other reports about Trop, and what other threads posted as an email from Trop about the program. But as to why… One commenter on this thread had this to say, and I can’t link directly to the comment so I’m posting it,

I just got off the phone with a Glock rep. He stated, Glock was informed that Trop guns may have purchased some Glocks from a distributor at blue label pricing and turned around and sold them to customers at their standard price. He said, this is the second time in five years that this has happened since he’s been with Glock. Both time were for the same reason, possible improper use of blue label pricing.
He stated, they look at the 4473 because it’s against the law to falsifying that document. There is a separate form documenting the discount that gets attached to the 4473. He stated, they don’t document or take pictures of the 4473, they just do a quick visual and make sure the name on the 4473 matches the name on the form showing the discount.

Whether Trop was accused of violating Blue Label Program rules or not, Glock doesn’t have the right to look at 4473’s… Only your gun dealer and the the dreaded government can. And Glock admits to Truthaboutguns they regularly check dealers 4473’s, not just Trop’s 4473’s.

Does Glock still check 4473’s? Most likely. With their anti 2A actions both recent and past such as caving to the Clinton Admin. Then there’s NSSF’s ‘Data Hunter’ national gun registry, Glock was/is a big supplier of data for it. A cynical mind might wonder if some of that data came from more than just warranty cards…

As for me, the last two Glock’s I’ll ever buy, I already own.

Equip, train, pray and never disarm.
