Edina City Council (11-18-25)

The Edina City Council meeting on 11-18-25 was interesting, here. Long story short, they decided not to go forward with the ordinance for now. They still want to “do something” obviously, and are looking into hosting a “public forum”, they weren’t very clear on what that is exactly. Both the city manager and city attorney were against the ordinance, citing state preemption law, and legal risk to police.

The council still wants to pass an ordinance, and ordered the city attorney and the city manager to come up with things that were “defensible”. And the council still seems to think they can pass a “safe storage” ordinance. I’m unclear why they think that would be allowed with the state preemption law. At the end, one put forth the idea of banning public shooting at, she didn’t say the name, but there’s only one, Braemar.

There never really seemed to be a good view of the crowd, but from the sound of applause it must’ve been nearly full if not full. And Moms Demand Action was on scene.

It was very interesting to watch as the council spoke like therapists, while really putting on the theater performance, they each had their part and knew it well. And in the end, kicked the can down the road to the next meeting. The real tell was when the mayor spoke of Tampon Tim wanting to put forth a Constitutional Amendment. That was everyones cue to do nothing now and each gave a monologue, or several, but none argued. Each knew their part. The mayor also said the League Of Minnesota Cities wanted Edina to “do something”, but wouldn’t commit to covering the cities legal expenses should they be sued.

Looking at X, people seem to be in agreement that the Edina City Council is dumb. Don’t make that mistake. These people, and many thousands across the state and country in city councils, county boards, state legislatures, and CONgress, all want citizen disarmament. They are committed. There’s no arguing, there’s no debate. They’re desire for citizen disarmament is on par with a religious tenet for them. They don’t care about laws, the 2nd Amendment, or details on firearms and their function. They’ve got the power, they’re committed to their cause. Just because they didn’t do anything at this meeting, doesn’t mean the council’s quit.

We must keep an eye on not just Edina, but city councils across the state and also watch Tampon Tim closely and what he and the Dems try to do in the next legislative session. He put himself in a corner with all that tough talk, and then not having the votes to “do something”. He’s got 2A supporters and the antis mad at him, for the same reason, talk. 2A supporters didn’t like his talk. And the antis got fired up by his talk, then furious when he didn’t deliver.

Letters like the one from MN Gun Owners Caucus can chill a city council for a time, but don’t think we can relax. The anti’s didn’t call it quits. Neither can we.

Equip, train, pray and never disarm.
