Why does the 2A movement fail to act? We are our own worst enemy. The anti’s don’t pose near the hurdles on advancing our cause that we, ourselves do. Why is that?
The answer would seem to be apathy. Yet, where’s that apathy come from? Why are we more willing to whine, cry, and holler at our computers, tv’s and at each other as opposed to taking action? Was the old refrain from the left back in the ’60s and ’70s about the right being “reactionary” correct? Do too many gunowners like to “react” by complaining rather than doing?
You know what they say about opinions, and it’s obviously true. Yet, don’t we, despite our other disagreements, agree on the meaning and importance of the Second Amendment? Doesn’t that alone unite us enough to work together, and email, join groups, message politicians and each other on un-social media, conduct get out the vote efforts and, since we’re post Fed-Surrection carefully protest?
Why is no one willing to talk about the monumental lack of action in the current Virginia state elections from NRA and President Trump? If I hadn’t read Codrea’s articles on Ammoland and his posts on his blog, I’d have never known about Fusaro’s plan and NRA and Trump being MIA. The “professionals” aren’t talking about it, not only not NRA, but also not GOA, SAF, FPC and NAGR. Where are they? Other 2A writers and Youtubers, I haven’t read nor heard a peep. Why not? Why aren’t regular Joe’s on forums and X talking about it?
And as Codrea points out in his blog, why the either lack of interest or outright hostility on certain forums by readers at the mere mention of the problems in Virginia? The lack of interest would fit with the unfortunately typical apathetic gunowner. But where’s the hostility come from? Is it, by some “brand loyalty” to the NRA? Or is it, due to blind worship of Trump from others? The only other idea I have is it’s mere trolls.
If we, as a… Are we even a “movement” if we fail this miserably at something as simple as talking? If the 2A “movement” doesn’t start getting to work, and soon, our cause will be totally lost.
Get to work.
