First, when HPA and SHORT were making their way through Congress, it was Senate Leader John Thune, Republicant, who caved to the Senate Palimentarian’s “advice”. Yes she only offers advice, nothing she says is binding. She serves at the pleasure of the Senate Leader, and she was appointed by former Senate Leader Harry Reid, Democrat.
So when Senate Leader John Thune (R) took the Senate Parliamentarian’s advice and removed from the bills the NFA delisting language, that was a choice on his part. I find it very difficult to believe Mark Chesnut doesn’t know that.

its intent to repeal the NFA’s registration and transfer requirements by eliminating the associated taxes on certain firearms and silencers.
Obviously if the Republicants truly intended to remove suppressors and short barreled rifles-shotguns and any other weapons from NFA, Senate Majority Leader Thune (R) would’ve disregarded a Democrat appointed Senate Parliamentarians advice.
Neither party is pro 2A.
