I was at the gun store today, they’re a “Glock Stocking Dealer”, I suppose that means they buy direct or in some other way get preferred pricing.
Before they had 3 or 4 shelves in the upright glass display cases filled with Glocks. Probably three dozen? Maybe four dozen? Pistols in total. Today, they had one and a half shelves for Glocks. I didn’t count but couldn’t have been much more than a dozen, if that. They had nearly as many Shadow Systems as actual Glocks. They had zero long barreled Glocks and I believe all were 9mm. I wonder if I bought the last G34 Gen 5 MOS they had?
I wonder too, what Glock’s market share will fall to, on the Militia market if they continue to neglect it? We’re already seeing Glock clones becoming almost as prevalent as FN Hi Power clones. Maybe Glock clones in a few years will be like 1911’s, where nearly every pistol manufacturer makes them?
Right now, Glock doesn’t have anything in their “civilian” catalog I want anyway. I like the feel of the G34 so much, that I’d only be interested in the long barreled models. I’m not interested in their standard models, I have a G17 Gen 5, and no longer have an interest in it, given how the G34 feels and balances, so the few that they still offer to us peasants, don’t matter to me.
Glock’s preference for sucking up to “the only ones” over selling to the Militia, just cost them a customer.
Which leads to a scary thought, will other companies follow Glock’s lead? Either quit selling most or all of their arms to the Militia?
