Stop The Consumerism Part 3

Not all arms have to have a “purpose”, like for Militia use, or self defense or hunting. You can have “toys” too. Competition, target shooting, plinking, anything.

Shooting something is always better than shooting nothing. Not only is it fun, be it helps you maintain the skills. Remember, good shooting is a perishable skill. It must be maintained.

Nothing I said in Part 1 or Part 2 or here, was meant to suggest I’m arguing for a limit. My goal is to point out that you should consider ignoring some of the hype, adds, endorsements, etc, for arms, and gear, the “latest and greatest”, so as you don’t lose sight of the purpose or the fun aspect.

What that purpose or fun is, only you will know. I have “tools” and I have “toys”. Just don’t forget to practice, with your “tools” and play with your “toys”. After all, what good’s a gun if you don’t have enough money left over for ammo, because you just dropped a couple grand on the latest and greatest, x, y, z?
