NRA Petition Time

I got back late last night from a full day of shooting, more on that later, running short of time, (blogging ain’t my day job).

Checking my email, I got this from NRA IN DANGER, https://nraindanger.wordpress.com/2025/07/13/col-browns-endorsements-request-to-sign-their-petitions/

If you want to sign the petition, go ahead. But I think it’s a waste of time. Encouraging the board to remain 76 seats, accomplishes nothing. Plus, there’s a good chance between RICO, Hammer, North, Supernaugh, and, am I missing any lawsuits? The NRA will be toast come the next board election cycle.

As you can see from my comment on the above page,

With 76 directors seats, and, if I remember corrector from the “townhall”, aka virtual fundraiser, Bachenberg said there were 110 non directors holding committee assignments.

The current board average is 12 for a corporation, with the trend going downward to 6-9 directors. Even if you had 76 directors, who were the best, brightest, most aggressive and forward thinking and about all honest… They’ll never agree. Then throw in 110 non directors to the committees?! It’s absurd.

Just think, having a family meal at Christmas or Thanksgiving, how hard is it to get a dozen people, or two dozen people to agree? Now, think of 76 people agreeing on anything.

I’m afraid if we keep focusing on the simply playing musical chairs with the board, that if, and that’s a big IF, the crooks are all gone, will you see the “reformers” voluntarily give up their seats in order to shrink the board? Think of the campaign promises, of term limits from your state legislators or congressmen, has any followed through? No. Will these “reformers”? No.

All these nominations will do, is to encourage a massively bloated board to carry on with 76 directors. That must end. Downsize the board down. Otherwise, no real progress will ever come.

As far as the NRA goes, I don’t see the point in caring. I’ll keep an eye on things, try to stay somewhat in the know, but my attention right now lies elsewhere. I don’t see a future with the NRA and the 2nd Amendment’s too short on time as it is.

Equip, train, pray and never disarm.
