Last week I got my first issue of the quarterly ‘American Rifleman’, this is the Feb, ’26 issue. It’s mainstream shooting press, which doesn’t interest me. You know, articles which read like they were written by manufacturer PR teams. Not interesting.
The director election ballot’s in there too. It’s not worth a stamp. Owen Buz Mills of Gunsite fame is chairman of the nominating committee and has gone full on DEI, listing under “skills particularly desired”… “Minorities”. And NRA director Jeff Knox, NRA’s unofficial crisis PR man defends the nominating committee’s DEI. And Knox is “the hard corps”…
And members can vote for up to twenty-nine candidates and there’s thirty-eight names on the ballot, this cycle. And the board is still seventy six seats in total. Presumably there’s still going to be an additional 110 additional board members whom are not elected. I wonder if G-Man Kash Patel’s Mossad honeypot will have a seat? She does now, or so she claims. Official committee assignment listings list an “Alexis Wilkens”, not “Alexis Wilkins”.
One last thing, is on page 8, there’s 1/3 page ad for Friends Of NRA/NRA Foundation. Why? NRA is suing NRA Foundation. But this tracks with NRA’s long line of stupidity, as it joined NYSRPA in a lawsuit. The NYSRPA is headed by Tom King who also heads NRA Foundation! Does NRA still have employees working for Foundation? Remember there’s a “wall” between these two groups, even though they reside together in the same building in Fairfax, VA, share leaders, suing each other and with each other, share a name, don’t exchange funds… Yikes. YetNRA 2.0 and Jeff Knox still insist there’s that “wall”.
But did NRA Foundation pay NRA for that ad in ‘American Rifleman’? And if they did, did they pay full market rates? Or get a discount?
Don’t forget, NRA’s “America’s oldest civil rights organization”…
And on a final note, NRA did block me.
Equip, train, pray and never disarm.
