Texas and the GOP nationally can’t have John Cornyn in the party. Since this is a 2A blog, I’ll keep this narrowed to 2A. Cornyn doesn’t trust YOU with your arms. Therefore he shouldn’t get a single vote from any man who values his right to keep and bear arms. And to anyone who doesn’t exercise his Second Amendment rights, he too, if he has the ability to think critically, should question Cornyn’s motives for pushing government monopoly on violence legislation, and ask himself why Cornball doesn’t trust the American people, and NOT reward Cornyn with a vote.
As to Paxton, the scandals… I think perhaps the worst scandal is the affair. I used to think a politician getting some on the side wasn’t a big deal if he did his job well. But as I’ve grown older I’ve seen how enemies entrap politicians with blackmail over affairs and other sexual issues. Since Paxton wants to be one of the most powerful men in the country, a US Senator, and has shown himself to be prone to giving in to temptation, I view the affair as a major disqualification and question if there’s anything else in his past which either is, or could be used to blackmail him.
If I were a Texan, I’d be looking for a third option.
Equip,train, pray and never disarm.
