Another Day, Another Betrayal

Another day, another betrayal. Whom can we trust? Certainly not Silencer Central and the House Republicants… https://www.ammoland.com/2025/05/silencer-centrals-suppressor-lobbying-sparks-controversy-over-nfa-deregulation-stance/

From various blogs it seems most gun owners want to boycott Silencer Central. I agree. But let’s not forget other things. Who was it after all that wrote the bill? Republicants. The bigger issues is whether gun owners will hold the Republicants responsible, and send them home, permanently, or will they just blindly vote for them again, because they have an (R) beside their name?

And what about the “2A” groups?… More on them later.

When will gun owners start punishing Republicants for 2A betrayals? And don’t bore me with the “Oh well they’re better than a Democrat” non sense. Stop making excuses for these tyrants. Think of it another way. What difference does party affiliation make, if the people either in power, or seeking power infringe upon the Militia’s right to keep and bear arms?

What is the ultimate check on tyrannical power in the American form of government? The Militia. So, one can make all the policy arguments they want about why Republicants are better than Democrats… But if a Republicant doesn’t trust we the people, the Militia, to keep and bear arms, should you trust him any more than you trust a Democrat, regardless of all the other policy issues?

Someone will no doubt think I’m supporting the Democrats, but no. I just support the truth. And the truth is, we were betrayed by Republicans. The Republican Party claims to be “pro gun”. Maybe they are “pro gun” as a gun muffler surely isn’t a firearm. But think of the name of the bill… The Hearing Protection Act… Is that what a suppressor’s really useful for? That’s what all the 2A groups championed. No doubt they help slow the loss of a shooters hearing, or outright stop it, yet, what’s the best use of a suppressor? I’d argue the near or total elimination of muzzle flashes. That’s why military’s like them so much. Ever shot your AR15 in the dark with just a “flash hider” mounted to the muzzle? How well does that “hide” the muzzle flash? Kinda like a bolt of lightning isn’t it? The Militia uses of suppressors are lost on “2A” groups. As is the Militia use of machine guns.

Now let’s get into more detail on the dangers of being merely “pro gun” or “pro 2A” in the dare I say, “politically correct” sense.

First, what do the slogans “pro gun” or “pro 2A” mean? Probably the most common answer is that you support the right to keep and bear arms.

That first danger leads us to the second danger. People, confuse “arms” and “2A” as “guns”. Yes, “arms” includes “guns”. But what else are “arms”? “Arms” are all the terrible and deadly implements of the soldier.

This is the third danger. If we limit the argument to “guns” in the conventional sense(semi auto rifles, and pistols, both mounted with suppressors and using “high” capacity magazines), where’s that leave us? Will you and a few of your family and friends, armed with semi automatic AR15’s be able to, as part of the Militia, fend off an enemy infantry squad? In 2025, what do infantry squads consist of? Riflemen armed with select fire carbines, and grenades, and some with grenade launchers, while two or three in the squad have belt fed machine guns and perhaps even a rocket launcher. Prepare for mortars or something bigger too, as they’ll have radios which they can call fire missions back to their platoon or company. You and your buddies with semi auto AR15s will die. That’s why the American Militia must have un-infringed access to all “arms” of the soldier, as the Founders intended. Read Tench Coxe, a fascinating man, and excellent writer from the Founding era. Speaking of mortars and rocket launchers, or something bigger, if you think that’s a crazy notion, do you know where the patriotic slogan “Come and take it” comes from and why on the flag there’s a cannon? Once upon a time in a Texas town, the tyrannical Mexican Army, came to collect a civilian owned cannon. The Texans made a flag, the flag we all know-with a cannon, with the slogan we all know. Guess how that ended? Combat, which led to a full on revolution, which led to the independent state of Texas. So, is the notion of you or your neighbor owning a mortar or rocket launcher or something bigger still seem all that strange now? How many VFW’s or American Legion’s have you seen with a decommissioned WW2 or Cold War era tank or artillery piece parked in front? Ever wonder why YOU can’t own a modern one that works?

The fourth danger is perhaps the most dangerous of all. Do we, the American people, understand what “Militia” and “arms” truly mean? Do we understand, what the Second Amendment means? The common retrain is “it’s not about hunting, it’s about self defense”… That’s true, but not the whole truth. It means more than just individual defense against a thug. It also means collective defense against tyrannical armed forces, either foreign or domestic. Read the Second Amendment, with all of the above in mind…

“A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”

Now after reading the 2nd Amendment, does that sound like it’s referring to you tucking a Glock under your jacket for defense against muggers? Or keeping an AR15 or 12gauge in your room, in case of a burglary? Or does the Second Amendment, now begin to sound like it’s talking about something more, something bigger? Like, “Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State”? What do those words mean? Does that sound like mere “self defense”? Or more like defending your neighborhood, your town, your county, your state, your nation, from tyrants? Maybe “Come and take it”, and a cannon is sounding more and more, like and 1830’s version of being “pro 2A”. Think what a M249 SAW, or grenades or a mortar, etc, could turn the tide in open combat in favor of the Militia.

Now with that in mind, “the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” How do you read that now? Do you think a Glock and an AR15 are going to get the job done? Not hardly. Could the Texans have won without cannons? No.

If we, the Militia are to be a true check on tyranny, we need unrestricted access to all the arms of the soldier. Because if deterrence doesn’t work, and you’d better pray it does, but if it doesn’t, will you stand and be counted? Or will you submit?

Yes, the Second Amendment is about combat… That’s something “2A” groups have forgotten.
