GOA’s going the legistlative route with taking SBR’s off the NFA, by lobbying for inclusion of the SHORT ACT in reconsciliation. https://www.gunowners.org/na060925/
That’s a much smarter approach then how NRA’s doing it, by risking a bad Supreme Court ruling given how adverse the “conservative” majority has been at taking up 2nd Amendment cases, and when they do, ruling the right way.
If the Supreme Court takes up the NRA’s case, on SBR’s, and rules the wrong way, that’d be devastating. But that’s even if they bothered to hear the case. Why risk it at all? Let’s try Congress first. As I said before if these Republicants get lots of whispers of “Midterms are coming, you don’t want a anti 2A vote on your record…”, I think that’s a better avenue to try. And if it fails, we try again.
But, if the Supremes take up NRA’s case, and rule the wrong way, getting a chance to redo that, well, very unlikely within our lifetimes.
