Nevada Firearms Coalition VS NRA Counselor

The following, is an email I received, from Greg Ferrante who’s president of the Nevada Firearms Coalition, https://www.nvfac.org/ which he also sent to NRA’s CEO Hamlin, 2nd VP Marshall, CCO Mensinger, and Sec. Frazer.

His email lays out a very disturbing story, regarding how an NRA Counselor (I’d never heard of a “NRA Counselor”, had to look that one up, https://firearmtraining.nra.org/become-an-instructor/become-a-training-counselor/) tried to take over and profit from his associations women’s programs. It involves police, $10,000 in legal bills, and NRA HQ’s total dismissal of his associations concerns and troubles.

I tried to look for news articles or anything to help provide context, but could not find anything. I have no reason to doubt Mr. Ferrante’s claims, as why would he write such a detailed email to me, and senior NRA leadership, if it’s all fiction? I can’t think of a reason.

By “Alaska” he’s referring to this, https://2awhiterook.com/nra-state-association-listing-problem-more-info/

And my response to Mr. Ferrante, and CC’d to NRA’s CEO Hamlin, CCO Mensinger, 2nd VP Marshall and Sec. Frazer,

We keep hearing about “NRA 2.0” and “righting the ship” and “reform”. There’s only two avenues which I can see that could lead to that. First, the 76 director board is an abomination. That must be cut to the corporate average of 12 or less directors. Two, the NRA’s state associations need to band together and use their leverage to force change within the NRA.

Imagine what would happen if there were a dozen or more state associations, publicly demanding change, and by “change”, I mean a simple, bullet pointed list of changes that must occur within NRA or their associations leave the NRA.

The state associations would have a lot of leverage, as if the NRA lost even just several state associations, where would the money come from, and publicity, to make up for the loss in training and competitions from those states? And, what have the associations got to lose, if NRA HQ dismisses their concerns, and NRA Counselors try to take over state association programs and apparently attempt to illegally profit from the programs?

Another point to remember, which seems to be lost time and time again. The Second Amendment is about the Militia, the armed citizen. It is the state associations of the NRA, which provide much live fire training and competitions to the Militia. The Militia, is the ultimate check against tyranny. If NRA truly cares about the Second Amendment, then NRA must rethink its stances in many areas… Including state associations.
