Regarding an earlier post by me, https://2awhiterook.com/another-day-another-betrayal/, and having read more new material today, I am no longer sure who to believe. And I should’ve waited to post the earlier piece.
Why? Ammoland has been contacted by Chris Cox who denies involvement. This denial was newly published. Who’s right? Who’s wrong? Ammoland stands by their reporting, but, both can’t be right.
Silencer Central denies everything, which was to be expected. Yet, given the very public denials, especially by Chris Cox, and the still anonymous sources which Ammoland/John Crump cite, I’m now skeptical.
Chris Cox is no friend to the Second Amendment. His time with NRA-ILA is proof of that, it’s a terrible record. But, we can’t go blaming people for things they MIGHT have done. And we can’t go blaming companies for things they MIGHT have done.
David Codrea’s offered very sober insights into this. I encourage you to look, https://waronguns.com/silencing-critics/ and, https://waronguns.com/chriscross/
And you’ll see here, Ammoland has now updated their articles, https://www.ammoland.com/2025/05/sources-say-chris-cox-and-rep-kustoff-want-suppressors-on-the-nfa/ and https://www.ammoland.com/2025/05/silencer-centrals-suppressor-lobbying-sparks-controversy-over-nfa-deregulation-stance/
After seeing the total denials from Cox, and the additional denials from Silencer Central, and that Ammoland/Crump’s sources still remain anonymous, there’s too much grey area here for me to be certain of who to believe.
I’m willing to change my mind, if Ammoland and John Crump’s sources become public and offer concrete proof, or some other source with total 100% undeniable proof is produced.
Until then, I don’t know who to believe. And will consider this a “he said/she said” event.
And I apologize for jumping the gun with my earlier post.
