As with suppressors and short barreled arms, (HPA and SHORT) MAGA deliberately misses the plot on machine guns. The tax is a relatively minor infringement compared to the registry, and the fact that no new machine guns have been made for the civilian market since 1986, courtesy of Republican President Ronald Reagan’s signing of the Firearm Owners Protection Act, which included the Hughes Amendment. (Both NFA and Hughes were supported by NRA).
From a practical standpoint, no one can exercise their 2A rights regarding machine guns when none have been allowed into the civilian market in 40 years, no matter how much money they have. Guns break, they need to be repaired, they need parts and need to be replaced. And all the more so when they’re fully automatic and used for training regularly. Remember, Militia? We gotta train.
The fact is neither party wants an armed citizenry, and voting is a facade.
Equip, train, pray and never disarm.
