In regards to the NRA, I have received back channel communications that the National Rifle Association does not have an official policy on machine guns.
I believe that source, as I’ve found nothing to suggest anything to the contrary.
Now, with GOA, it’s even more frustrating. As they bill themselves as the “no compromise gun lobby”…
I know that’s hard to see, but…
Two days, “Medium” priority, and no reply. The above screen shots were taken just moments ago, on the evening of May 13th.
I’m a member of both the NRA(life member) and GOA. And this is how I’m treated? Not that I’ve given money to the NRA recently, I haven’t donated since about ’18 or ’19, when they began calling for red flag laws and bump stock bans, plus the corruption scandal broke wide open. But I still get endless appeals for donations, which I send back in the postage paid envelopes empty.
Now with GOA, I thought they’d really take over and be the true enemy of the gun grabbers. “No compromise”, I like that. But now it appears to be just a slogan. Several times a week, I get appeals in my email in box. Once a month or so, I get one mailed to me. Yet a member, and though I’m not a mega donor, I send seasonal donations, I can’t get a reply? Nothing?
I’m not a member of SAF, or FPC or NAGR, so I have no standing with them. But their public response has been equally appalling.
But what do we do about 2A groups? Contact the ones you’re a member of. And if they refuse to change their public stance, stop renewing your memberships, and stop sending donations. Make them hurt. If they see the light, then rejoin. If they don’t see the light, forget them.
As you can see, I’m quickly losing faith in ALL “Second Amendment” groups. And now we see Republicans failing on gun mufflers. Yeah, I get appeals from the GOP too, which I likewise send back empty, in their postage paid envelopes.
I will not tolerate compromise on the Second Amendment from any organization, nor political party nor candidate. I thought this time around Trump had learned his lesson on 2A. I was wrong. Yes, I voted for him, three times. And he’s failing us on 2A. To be fair to Trump, he’s not a gun guy. Which begs the question, where’s the supposedly 2A groups? Why aren’t they whispering in his ear? And where’s the Republican Party as a whole?
If this is the route 2A groups choose to follow, by not taking a stand on machine guns, and tripping over themselves to see who can be Trump’s best cheer leader, instead of demanding he follow through, on his Second Amendment promises, then I have no use for the 2A groups. None.
And GOP, brace yourselves. Unless you change your ways, and fast, many of you will be out of a job if you offer gun owners the choice of a pea brained milquetoast elephant or a raging jackass.
