NRA Bylaw Amendment Proposals

Yesterday, Robert K. Brown, (NRA director electee), sent me an email with a link to the following piece from DEI Jeff Knox,

All of that said, there were a total of 12 Bylaw amendment proposals – and I stress the word “proposals”– sent out to the Board members in preparation for the Houston meetings. Some of those will almost certainly be pulled from consideration during the Bylaws and Resolutions Committee’s meeting on Thursday, before the Meeting of Members on Saturday, while others are likely to be modified in some way. Those that make it through the B&R Committee will be discussed to some degree at the Members’ Meeting, then will be considered by the Board at our regular meeting on the following Monday.

There was no commentary from Brown about the piece. As for me, once again, DEI Jeff types a lot and says little. What exactly are these twelve proposals? Is the text available on NRA’s website for membership to read? If it is, I couldn’t find it. The “reformers” claim to want an informed and engaged membership. But if that’s true, they’d have no qualms about showing us the text. And most importantly, would any of these proposals strengthen the Militia?

And I also looked at NRA director John Richardson’s blog and saw nothing about the bylaw change proposals. Same goes for the NRAINDANGER blog.

The only reason I bring this up is NRA still has sway. Their court cases affect us all. They’re lobbying, or lack their of affects us all. And generally nothing NRA does strengthens 2A.
