FPC has a Freedom Index, where they rate individual state’s gun “laws”. Two states scored 100%, New Hampshire and Kansas.
First off, there are no “free” states. Sure, there’s better and then there’s worse, but none are truly free. For instance New Hamphire,
For Militia purposes, carrying loaded arms in a vehicle may come in handy. And N.H. has a “prohibited persons law”
Why would someone deemed too dangerous to own a gun be allowed in public anyway? Why wouldn’t they still be in prison? Then other problems such as court house bans and bans for schools unless one has a permit. As you can see New Hampshire isn’t “free”.
And what about the other 100% “free” state of Kansas?
And again, there’s various “prohibited persons” categories. And there’s all kinds of “illegal” arms, but this one’s interesting,
Handgun cartridges with plastic-coated bullets with cores of less than 60% lead by weight.
So Kansas is not “free” either
I understand why a 2A group would want to have a rating scale for states regarding their 2A “laws”, but any 2A “law” is an infringement and to give any state which has gun “laws” on its books a 100% rating is actually very harmful to our cause as it tricks gun owners into believing certain “laws” are acceptable rather than the infringement they truly are.
We don’t need more fudds. Do better FPC.
Equip, train, pray and never disarm.
