I’m not talking the movie, ‘Kill Switch’ (2008)– it’s painful to watch. I’m talking about the other kill switch, the one all Republicans in the US House just voted to keep, (except Thomas Massie) in your vehicle. (Trump’s having Massie primaried, what’s that tell us?)
Why would they want the ability to kill the engine of your vehicle? Just a flip of a switch and your vehicle shuts down, as you’re doing 70mph on the interstate. Is there something in the Constitution that allows that?
Since they have the power to shut down your vehicle, what other power do they have? Surely that can’t be all, there must be more. Are they listening? Watching? After all, all modern vehicles have computers and wifi. If you have a vehicle made by General Motors, say a Chevy 1500 that you take to the range and drive out to the woods to hunt, does Uncle Sam have the ability to tap into On Star and listen to the conversation you’re having with your family and friends? If the conversation is about the pro’s and con’s of certain rifles, and certain ammo loads, will that pique the interest of Uncle Sam’s AI? Is there a camera so they can see how many rifle and ammo cases you’re loading into the back seat? And do scans of your face and those of your passengers?
Ask yourself, do you trust the government with that power? If you don’t, and you shouldn’t trust them with that kill switch either, do you trust those same people to defend and strengthen your Second Amendment rights? You shouldn’t trust them, because power is power. There’s no limit to the amount of power they want. And it doesn’t matter who’s in “power” either. If you think it’s ok, because Trump’s in the White House and the Republicans hold majorities in both the US House and US Senate, you’re wrong, look no further than Case v Montana and also ICE’s memo where they don’t need warrants signed by judges. GOP/MAGA/conservatives have killed what little was left of the 4th Amendment. And yet we’re told it’s only Democrats who want big government and tyranny.
I’ve just scrolled the feeds of GOA, NRA, SAF and NAGR on X, and I see nothing about the kill switch vote. Why doesn’t this alarm 2A? It should.
And while facts typically don’t change opinions, it’s worth noting that the good “Judeo Christians” in the Republican Party voted with the Atheists in the Democrat Party for “gender affirming care”.
The difference between the two parties is nothing more than team jerseys.
