PPK, PPK/S, PP Production Suspended

Walther’s suspending production of the PPK, PPK/S and PP. Is that because their best customer, James Bond is dead?

Walther Arms, Inc. today announces the formal multi-year pause of production for its legendary PPK®, PPK/S®, and PP® legacy handgun lines—marking the end of an era for some of the most iconic firearms in history.

Does modernization mean cheapen it up, so it can be a parts bin gun? It seems that’s how it’s all going across the board. I’ve never shot a PPK, and I’d like to, but, it’s never been high enough on my wish list to actually buy. The fact that they had quit bluing them and used some version of nitride didn’t appeal to me either. But oh well.

Obviously AR15’s and Glocks and the like prove a parts bin gun can work. Yet, I’m skeptical a design from 1929-1931 can be made that way and actually function.

Equip, train, pray and never disarm.
