Lisa Demuth enters the Minnesota governors race. Is that good or bad?
She’s a Republican from Cold Springs, and Speaker of the Minnesota House. In 2024, MN Gun Owners Caucus gave her an A+ and an endorsement. (Scroll down to State Rep District 13A). Is that enough? Depends if she bends to the winds over the course of the next year and what else develops and of course something or things will develop. Her very fast rise to power concerns me.
The two other big names on the Republican side of the race are Scott Jensen who’s a bone head in general and on 2A his position shifts with the tea leaves. I won’t vote for him. I didn’t vote for him the last time he ran for governor either.
The other is Kendall Qualls. He didn’t win his Congressional race. And he quit the last governors race. He also spent thirty or so years working in big pharma, where he rose to be an executive. Big pharma alone earns him an automatic NO from me. But his past endorsement from Nikki Haley… Red flag, double NO.
Politics is theater. Politicians are actors. Trust nothing. Research everything. Make your own conclusions.
