So the Catholics are pissed off they didn’t get tax payer money to fund security programs at a private school, therefore the recent school murders in Minnesota are Tampon Tim’s fault?
If the Catholics- and to be clear, I’m speaking of Catholic leadership, not everyday Catholics, if the Catholics can afford to fund the MASSIVE security apparatus at the Vatican, why can’t Catholic’s hire armed guards, and the like for their schools? Why are they blaming Tampon Tim for not giving them taxpayer funding?
Don’t panic, I’m no Tampon Tim fan, just the opposite. But how’s this his fault? If it’s a Catholic school, then isn’t securing it a Catholic issue to deal with? The same is true for a public school, isn’t securing it an issue for the local school district?
And, how many times have we seen, throughout history when government starts dolling out money to private entities, the private entities end up bending to the will of the government, because the money always comes with strings attached? Would you want, your children’s school whether it’s private or public, to be protected the way a lunatic like Tampon Tim sees fit, or would you rather it be done through local control, the way the PARENTS see fit? After all, if a child dies, who’s going to mourn? The governor? Or the parents?
Obviously the blame for the murders and attempted murders lays with the man who pulled the trigger. But is complaining about not getting tax payer funding for a private Catholic school, especially when the Vatican is so heavily fortified… Reasonable? Shouldn’t the Vatican start giving out money for armed guards to Catholic schools? And shouldn’t the parents of the children attending those Catholic schools have a say in how their children will be protected? That sounds more reasonable to me then getting Tampon Tim involved.
Equip, train, pray and never disarm.
